WHO ARE WE?
Victoria Hall is where Christians from all
parts of Surrey and Hampshire come to
Praise and Worship God and have Fellowship with one an other.
As believers of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and
God the Holy Spirit, we that meet at Victoria Hall Christian Fellowship
aim:
1. To be wholeheartedly committed to Jesus Christ
as Saviour and Lord (JOHN
20:31 / ROMANS 10:9)
2. To be baptised by immersion in water and to meet regularly
to remember the
Lord in the breaking of bread (ACTS 19:5-6 / 1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-26)
3. To seek, and encourage others to seek to be daily filled and
empowered by the
Holy Spirit (ACTS 2:17, 38-39)
4. To read the Bible regularly, accepting its authority and acting
on it by the
power of the Holy Spirit, so that the church may be made more
true to the Bible
under Lordship of Christ (2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17)
5. To support the church as it engages in spiritual warfare, enabling
Christians
to recognise and to resist the enemy, bringing people to deliverance
from
bondage to sin, weakness, habit, and Satan (MATTHEW 28:18-20)
6. To live adventurously by faith, seeking security in God, not
in my own
understanding, efforts, other people, material things, circumstances,
or
traditional patterns (JEREMIAH 17:5-8)
7. To seek spiritual "brokenness" before God, so that
my will is submitted to
His, and His will is all that matters (MATTHEW 7:21-23) to aim
at holiness of
life based upon the fruit of the Spirit, and to seek for repentance
and healing
as necessary, so that there are no barriers to spiritual progress
(PSALM
118:5-9)
8. To learn to intercede for others and to listen in prayer for
God's specific
guidance (ROMANS 8:26-27)
9. To join regularly in worship and to encourage the building
up of a
worshipping community which will know what is to adore God, being
"lost in a
wonder love and praise" and being able to express this worshipfully
(PSALM 100)
10. To be deeply committed personally and encourage others to
be deeply
committed to the church as a community, not each "doing his
own thing" in the
rebellious spirit of the age, but aiming to achieve a unity of
heart and of mind
in which the church moves enthusiastically as one in obedience
to God, so that
the world might believe (JOHN 17:21-23)
11. To accept the authority of the overall leaders and other leaders
in their
spheres of office, respecting them and trusting their leadership
in matters
which effect the church, in accordance with biblical teaching
(THESSALONIANS
5:12-13)
12. To be completely loyal to each other, keeping confidences,
defending each
other against negative criticism, not being judgmental or jumping
to conclusions
about others (COLOSSIANS 3:12-15)
13. To be open and honest with each other in love, giving and
receiving
prayerful encouragement and correction, putting right any gossip
or negative
criticism in others (MATTHEW 18:15-17 / GALATIONS 6:1-2)
14. Before making a decision about important issues, to share,
and encourage to
share in confidence for prayer and guidance (PROVERBS 12:15)
15. To give liberally to God as He has prospered and to ensure
that a fellow
believer is not left in serious financial or material need (MALACHI
3:8-10 /
CORINTHIANS 9:6-8)
16. To accept pastoral responsibility for others so that the church
may become a
truly loving community and a place where God's healing power will
be at work
(EPHESIANS 4:16)
17. To base family life, and encourage others to base family their
family life
on the biblical principals of love, fellowship, submission, and
discipline, so
that none may be excluded (EPHESIANS 5:22 / 6:4 / 1TIMOTHY 5:1-16)
18. To be involved regularly in the activities of the church (ACTS
2:42-48 /
HEBREWS 10:24-25)
19. To seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and other members
of the assembly in
order to establish and use our spiritual gift(s)
20. To encourage each other in order to discover his/her spiritual
ministry, so
that the church may be built up as people fulfil only the role
to which they
have been called and for which they have been gifted by God and
recognised by
the church (EPHESIANS 4:11-16 / 1 CORINTHIANS 12)
21. To support the fellowship in evangelism by love, word, deed
and power, as it
stresses the urgency of the church's mission to the world according
to ACTS 1:8
and in light of the return of Christ. To work in fellowship with
all who share
this vision (ACTS 10 :39-42 / HEBREWS 10:23-25)
